VIA INMARSAT, JANUARY-MARCH 2003
A Greek distributor of Inmarsat services and satellite equipment is expanding across Europe thanks to growth of the shipping and satellite communication markets. Stimulated by crew calling initiatives, demand for mini-M has risen, and Navarino Telecom intends to meet those needs.

Since introducing its Navarino Crew Calling Cards 2 years ago, the company has watched mini-M activity grow. Currently it is at a peak, and the company dominates the local market, taking some 40% of the business. Konstantinos Katsoulis of Navarino says that the attractive rate package, high – quality customer care, and the 48-hour terminal replacement guarantee have helped their success.

Navarino is currently looking at the Norwegian and German markets, having already initiated a network of resellers in Cyprus, Italy, Spain and Switzerland. “We recommend ship owners provide their crew with crew calling cards, as the calls are easier to calculate, and it is easier for the shipping companies to provide cards” said Konstantinos Katsoulis, who is currently demonstrating Fleet77 to operators. “ We think that will be a major boost in the next year, though mini- M still has a lot to offer”.

OCEAN VOICE, SEPTEMBER 2002
Navarino offers competitive Fleet package
Navarino Telecom, the major Inmarsat service provider and Crew Calling Cards distributor in Greece, is now offering a total Inmarsat Fleet F77 package to European ship owners and managers.

Navarino is the first company in Greece that sells and supports this innovative service, which enables rapid and effective global voice, fax and satellite ISDN services for high speed 64 kbit/s data transmission together with the cost-effective Mobile Packet Data service (MPDS). This unique service charges only for the amount of data that has actually been exchanged, not the time connected, and facilitates a permanent always on Internet connection between the vessel and the office.

The Navarino Fleet F77 package is an integrated solution that includes terminal and antenna hardware, competitively priced airtime and value added applications, as well as technical and customer service support.

An example of the company’s commitment to customer service is the Navarino Support Package (NSP). Specifically designed to meet the needs and requirements of the modern maritime telecommunication manager, this special service package is provided free of charge to all the Navarino's mini-M customers.

Konstantinos Katsoulis, Navarino’s international sales manager, explained: “We offer high quality products and services to our customers, and provide innovative and cost-effective maritime communications solutions. NSP’s unit replacement guarantee saves owners and managers money and time - within 48 hours, all mini-M terminals with a problem that cannot be remotely rectified will be replaced to keep vessels connected.

“NSP also allows managers to monitor the calling 'behaviour' by analysing the customised statistical reports that Navarino offers free-of-charge.

To ensure the efficient and safe use of Inmarsat mini-M terminals, Navarino also provides crew instruction sessions at its training facility in Piraeus.

For the time being the company is expanding its business all over Europe by establishing a resellers network or by providing its services directly to shipping companies.
